THE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) POST

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, also known as CSR, derives from the responsibility for the longevity surrounding the corporate environment.

Worldcsr, pronounced world CSR, is a blog written by Dr.CSRblog. IRL, my name is Filip, I am titled a doctor in the area of international business. I have written several thesis’s on social corporate responsibility as this motivates me and fills me with a passion to overanalyze (preferably) large corporations famous for their organizational responsibility and ethics.

So what is corporate social responsibility (CSR)? Corporate social responsability is in short a way for the operation to show commitment to the community and deciding upon longevity. Why csr has bloomed to a big trend is due to the increased awareness. A corporation and its social responsibility is vital to manage in order not to lose face, moreover faith from its target markets. Corporate social responsibility requires a marketing strategy highly complex, because stakeholders require profits as much as they require a brand with a high reputation. Therefore, socially responsible corporations in some way give back to the community, whether hiring locals, adopting green methods, etc.

But, that about corporate social responsibility that makes it so interesting is in fact that it is bad corporate social responsibility strategically marketed to increase face. All these CSR cases and activites involve two key aspects, cheap CSR, and public CSR, in other words effective to the corporation, and ineffective of its own meaning.

Beyond today’s effective corporate social responsibility are increasing questions from the broad and media-aware public and customers. Evolution of corporate social responsibility has now taken us to witness real truth behind those cheap shoes constructed in Malaysia by kids, or illegal chemicals being produced that leave destruction on local land for decades to come. The strategy of corporate social responsibility across the globe is feeling the increased pressure on this topics pros and cons. The gap between corporate social responsibilities’ pros and cons is absolutely no longer in favor to the corporate social responsibility across Europe as it neither is across Asia.

Global practices which include areas of corporate social responsibility are nevertheless frequent leaders in their markets. In other words, being the most generous corporations giving back to the community. As CSR margins compared to revenue still overall appear minute, reasons to be the most generous contributors equals the minimum settlements to feed the increasing social pressure from the general public.

As I have exemplified an introduction to corporate social responsibility, briefly describing what csr means, briefly demonstrated similarities of “ethical” csr in Europe as in Asia, I suspect my other posts will be easier to grip. Every CSR stakeholder is notably performing bad csr and not living up to what csr actually intends to do, which is to equalizing input and output and minimizing pressure on the surrounding social environment.

In coming posts with my csr blog, corporate responsibility and ethics of business should leave little to no question marks surrounding the true identity of csr in the world.

As I have dedicated my past 5 years as an analyst and a semi journalist, I have both visited and analyzed several hundreds of corporations that claim a social responsibility. In my further outlines, I will raise objectivity from my Asian & my Pacific Asian experiences (East), in contrast to my European (West) experiences. Moreover, I will mention several outcomes from CSR discussions between credible people around this corporate and social trend.

Therefore, in coming blogs, I will in short describe an objective view regarding why most major corporations engage in corporate social responsibility, and how easy their actions could be asumed as a mass manipulation scheme to make money. It is smart, sexy, a little helpful, but most likely unethical too most citizens.

My upcoming post will surround point 1 "Ethical responsibility". It will quickly explain initial information on corporate responsibility and build on exposing actual experiences from analyzing factual examples of corporate impacts.
